  Advertising and Networking Opportunities

  • Internet Exposure: The Chamber of Commerce along with the City of Elizabethton, Carter County, Econmic Development Commission, Tourism Association, Elizabethton Electric System, and Elizabethton Newspapers are now partners in the Elizabethton/Carter County Technology Consortium (ECCTC). Now your business can benefit from this network which will provide exposure for your business on the web. All major local information is now networked together providing users an easy way to find the information that they are seeking.
  • Elizabethton/Carter County Membership Directory: This directory is circulated to all chamber members free of charge with a minimal charge for non-member requests. This classified listing of members provides a buyer's guide for those relocating to the area, tourists and residents - all potential customers.
  • Newsletter: Each month the Chamber newsletter, "Naturally Nice News " is distributed to over 300 leading businesses and elected officials. The mailings not only stay in the local area but are also sent to members in other states.
  • Direct Mail Advertisements: Each month, members only may promote their business, reaching hundreds of potential customers through the Newsletter insert program. For $60, members may bring in 300 copies of their 8 1/2 x 11" flyer and the Chamber will do the rest of the work - stuffing, labeling, sorting, and pay the postage - a savings of almost $200 in paying postage alone.
  • Visitors Guide: This publication published by the Tourism Department of the Chamber includes information on dining, lodging, entertainment, and other services. More than 30,000 of these full-color, professionally printed guides are distributed annually to targeted businesses, such as local hotels, travel agencies and real estate agencies and upon request. Chamber members are especially noted for easy recognition.
  • Special Newspaper Ads: Each year the Chamber takes out a special ad in the local paper, the Elizabethton Star, to thank all members for their participation and support. This special newspaper tab reaches more than 10,000 residents, tourists and businesses - all potential customers.
  • Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce Monthly Breakfast: Join this lively group which meets the fourth Thursday of each month at a member business. Participants benefit from this forum for referral and lead generation. New members are introduced and upcoming events are announced to the more than 70 attendees.
  • Committees: Members may participate in any of our active, dynamic committees, covering a wide range of interests such as Business Development, Community Development, Workforce/Education, Membership Services, Legislative affairs, and more throughout the year.

 Business Opportunities

  • Mailing Labels: Members receive a complimentary set of labels, upon request, for direct mailing information to the 300 Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce mailing list. Members may also purchase additional sets of labels for $25
  • Business Referral Service: Each month an average of 200 referrals of Chamber Business members are given to potential customers in response to inquiries from tourists, students and the general public. The Chamber sends out 50-60 relocation requests each month.
  • Promotional Displays: Only members can display their cards and promotional materials in the Chamber office - exposure to thousands yearly.
  • Tax Deductibility: Membership in the Chamber is 100 percent deductible as a necessary business expense.
  • Calendar: The Tourism Department of the Chamber maintains a calendar of community events that is listed on the Internet.
  • Advocate for Business: The Chamber is the voice of the business community in local, county, and state issues representing the business community in problem-solving, promoting economic development, etc. It has been the advisor to the city on many community issues and projects. Goals and accomplishments include:
    • Receiving the first ever Regional All-American City status - encompassing the counties in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, for outstanding community development efforts, youth empowerment, heritage preservation, Kellogg Community Partnership Program, regionalism, etc.
    • Strengthen existing small businesss and industry.
    • Encourage new businesses and industry.
    • Work with regional chambers on legislative issues impacting the area.
    • Continue working with city and county school systems to bridge the gap between education and employment.

Other Benefits:

  • Meeting Room: Chamber members are offered the use of the Chamber Board Room during business hours, for business purposes, free. This service has been discontinued to the public.
  • Bulk Mailing Permit Use: Members may use the Chamber bulk mailing stamp, thus saving the $125 fee and allowing them an average per piece mailed saving of $.14 each. Please check with the Chamber prior to using this service to obtain correct format of mailings.
